This past week has been very cool for me. In fact, the last four or five months have been pretty cool.I was a little concerned that I would have to find some way to supplement my income for the end of April and the entire month of May, since I had a little gap in my photography gigs during that time. Usually, in the photography world, if you don't have a job booked two or three months out, you are probably not going to get one. Not true.
Last week I got several incredible jobs that were completely tossed into my lap like a Thursday newspaper on Sunday. I might have normally said that this was surprising to me, but it wasn't. Not because I expect to get work cause I am that good or something, not that at all - but because I am just totally confident that I have been, and will continue to be, taken care of by, as Dylan would say, the Great Commander in Chief.
I have been asked to photograph:
1. Birth! - a play by Karen Brody + cast after party (will definitely be a bit weird, but should produce some interesting shots)
2. Luis Palau - two events here in Little Rock, one big, one small (Luis is basically the Billy Graham of Europe and Latin America. I will be the only photographer)
3. A very high society wedding here in Little Rock next weekend, as an assistant to Gruber Photographers of NYC. I have actually been asked not to share details about the event as they are worried about mass numbers of press trying to crash the party (check out their website, you might recognize a few people - Jack Nicholson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglass, Billy Joel, Regis Philbin...)
Of course, I feel the need to point out that I can personally take zero credit for the above mentioned things,
I am just riding shotgun.
