I have had a sneaking suspicion for a while now that with the advent and explosion of Twitter, Facebook, and all the other social networking sites, that no one cares about blogs anymore. Pretty much everyone in the world is on Twitter now. I wouldn't be surprised if my daugther had a Twitter feed that she updated from her crib on the hour.Anyway, since we are constantly getting little tweets from everyone we know, it seems like there is much less curiosity to check their blogs and websites and stuff to see what's going on with them. You sort of start to feel like a stalker when you are constantly checking on everyone like you really need to know where they are and what they are doing at all times.
If anyone understands the silliness of Twitter, its me - but I still do it anyway cause its kinda fun to think that people care what you are doing at any given time of day. If someone mentions you in a tweet, it sort of replaces the feeling of solitude that you might have had because you didn't get a single phone call or text all day. It's kinda pathetic, I know, but its true - for everyone.
So - with that said - does anyone care about this blog anymore? I'm not really feeling sad about it or anything, I'm really just curious. Are blogs dying out and being replaced by their younger, fresher, and more trendy little sisters? Would people rather read a short sentence limited to 140 characters than a 500 word blog post?
If you read this blog or check it on any sort of a regular basis, make a quick anonymous comment that just says something short like "Yep" or something so I know that you're still floating out there. I know there's a few secret readers out there so now is the time to show yourself - it will take zero seconds.
